COD4 installation issue

Hey all,
I've used this website before to help me but never registered, now i finally need some help i cant find!
I recently reformatted my desktop and put xp home back on.
I had no problems reloading xp, using other discs or installing programs.
When i put my cod4 disc in it autoloads fine i click install and it goes through the
C:\... main\iw_1.iwdC:\... main\iw_2.iwd
C:\... main\iw_3.iwd
files etc all the way to C:\... main\iw_11.iwd where i encounter the problem
once i hit that file on the install it comes up with an error.

"Error 1305. Error reading from file D:\Setup\data\main\iw_11.iwd. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

On the advice of some friends i tried re installing 5 times ive tried installing on my laptop and it came up with the same error. I also tried ripping to an .ISO file and installing via daemon tools, but it froze on roughly the same percentage as when i attempt an install.

Please post back here whenever you can i could use some help haha ,

Sounds like a scratched disk to me. Check the surface carefully, try using a disk cleaner. Maybe you can borrow a copy from a buddy to reinstall using your key.

If you add your location (user CP), there may be someone local to you that can help you out.

dude this happened to me when i installed TDU just do this and give us feed back on it and welcome to the forums. ok restart your pc then do nothing cept try to install i bet your error goes away.

You could try using a backup suite called 'BlindWrite' I've heard its good at dealing with damaged discs..
