I've been too lazy to install this.

Is it worth it?

I actually used the iso burning because i was too lazy to install nero again. Burnt a yello dog linux 6.1 iso for my ps3 and it worked flawlessly. I also used the built in data dvd burning to burn a divx dvd to watch on my tv, again worked perfectly. So much for a useless feature thats gonna be crap right enaberif?

Perhaps you need to learn to read again. I never said it was a useless feature I said lets see if the feature proves itself to be useful.

Meh, I'm with enaberif on the ISO burning feature, I much rather the control over the burning process that 3rd party apps give me rather than the simply, stripped down one that is included free with windows.

I look at it like the built in disk defragmenter, good in a jiffy, but there's better out there.

Same can be said of most software really. Personally i find it useful especially on a fresh install, i had to burn a dvd and didnt have any burning software installed so it worked great. Didnt have to go through any installing of software and activating it. Sure theres better out there but im cheap and as long as it works ill use it :D

Noticed theres a burn dvd video option as well maybe ill see how that compared to using convertXtodvd sometime this weekend.

That's been a concern since the first days of OS's which did more than just interface between hardware & software. The argument was that M$ shouldn't be cutting the throats of third party software companies by providing the same services for free. (The european legal battles over IE are a perfect example of this).

The argument in favour of M$ including functions that are "good enough for most, but not the best" is that their main competetor Apple has always done it that way.

I personally like the inclusion of these functions so long as they work, and don't run full time in the background.

What I find amusing its been how many years for Microsoft to implement this properly? When OS's like Linux and OSX have been doing it for years.. haha.
