Nvidia 180.84 (GTA IV improvements?)

Anytime I see "improvement" and "NVIDIA" into the same sentence, I figure they probably use the cheap old tricks to boost performance and while reducing IQ - you could probably do the same from going from high quality mode to quality except NVIDIA does things internally - This is obviously a very poor port (once again).

I'm reluctant to install these....mixed reviews on other Forums re: performance....boost in GTA4, but some instability in other Apps. Sticking to WHQL 180.xx for now. Anyone know whether this new Beta comes with PhysX and / or CUDA?

These caused corruption in the water effects in CoD: WaW for me...hence they were promptly uninstalled from my system.

I had the same problem with the WHQL 180.48's and CoD5. Turning off the 'dual gpu' option fixed it.

As for GTA IV, gained a couple fps's with the 180.84s' but I noticed my memory usage shot way up (45-47% with the WHQL. 60-80% with the 180.84) and the gameplay seems a lot smoother.

I haven't had any luck with the new drivers, so far I've found the 178.13 drivers are much stable. I downloaded the 180.84 launched Fifa 2009 and the gameplay, don't ask about it all crippled around, texture wasn't clearly visible, I did a lot of tweaking in the nvidia control panel, played for 2 weeks, so I finally gave up and switched back, and guess what as soon as I started playing after restart, wow game runs smooth..

I also had a few probs with COD with the new drivers, nothing too noticeable, also seen tons of people not happy with the 180's version, looks like for some of us instead of increasing overall game performance it messes it up.
