Thanks for all your help with parts selection. Feel free to comment on my build, but go easy on me because I'm excited right now. I'll probably add a sound card if the onboard isn't good and add a heatsink in the near future.

You will be quite pleased. Enjoy your build. Don't forget to take pics.
And I would definitively add a HSF right now.

i believe 9450 is worth than 9550 for performance vs price

and try to get micron ram (DDR2 RAM List) or maybe mushkin (very good)

i believe that corsair use promos... which is okay...

That list is so old I wouldn't go by it. At some point the micron chips were getting harder to find but that may not be the case now. Anyways their other good chips out their besides the Microns.

I do agree with the suggestion of getting Mushkin.

Nice. i would of gotten 9450, then use the money to get a lian li armorsuit, or a cosmos S.

Great build for the price. I would've chosen the Mushkin for the RAM but overall excellent build. Enjoy it =)

onboard sound usually isn't that bad, but um, you going to use the stock cooler for the cpu?
Even a cheap air cpu cooler from just about anybody is better than stock.
anyways, damn good for the price!

i see... well i am not ram expert... i know very little... mostly mushkin and consair... i dont know about other ;p

and about cpu cooler... i agreed... q9450 for 320cdn is OEM... so it needs good cpu cooler such as ocz vendetta 2 or thermalright true black...

ricknash61 August 20, 2008 08:25 PM

Yeah I agree with most of you saying I should have gotten Mushkins. Almost all Mushkin RAM is out of stock at NCIX and I wanted to get all the parts together so I opted for the Corsair. Are they bad?

Also, I planned on using a stock cooler because I have no intentions of overclocking. So there's not really much of a point in voiding my warranty since if it does overheat I get a new one.

CTA August 20, 2008 08:38 PM

why not wait for more stocks... usually they are coming on next day...eh? honestly it worths to get mushkin as everyone suggested... well consair is not that bad...

i believe intel company can't tell if you oced the cpu or not... so you wont void the warranty... i hope i am not wrong... stock cpu cooler is fine as long as you dont want to oc it..

honestly.. look at your specification... almost similar to my lists.. it looks overkill if you dont OC it or whatever... right now you can oc ram, mobo and cpu only... not video card...
