Default New member & New Rig!

Long time fan of HC but newly registered!

Thanks to hardware Canucks and some solid ppl I know, here's the new Rig I'm putting together. Did some research (read alot on Techspot & asked alot of ppl), but open to any comments.

I think it should be a pretty solid gaming machine once I get it together:

- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0G 6M 1333 164 S775
- Asus PQ-E S775 P45 ATX DDR2 1200 Mhz 1600/1333 FSB SATA GBLAN
- BFG Tech PS800W ATX 12v 2.2 & EPS12v 2.91 Silent 130mm Fan
- Sapphire HD4870 Radeon 512M GDDR5m 2x DVI
- Thermalright U-120E Ultra Extremem Heatsink
-> With Scythe S-Flex 120MM 150000 hrs Blue led
- G-SKill DDR2 PC2 8500 4GB kit (8 layers pcb)
- WD HD WD6400AAKS 640GB SATA 3G 7200 rpm 16MB bare drive
- WD 160GB 7200 RPM 8 MB (This is the System drive)
- LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray HD-DVD

added to a Samsung 226BW 22" LCD monitor.

Going to start with XP as the OS but I understand that Radeons work better under DirectX 10, so we'll see about Vista.

Can't wait to fire it up!

That's a really nice computer; I wouldn't change a thing on it.

Looks good. Just one question: why are you using the 160GB for your OS drive? That 640 is a beast! It would make one great OS drive.

Nice parts. You'll love it once it's assembled. Like 3.0Charlie said, what case are you planning to stuff those goodies in?

I very rarely like someone's else setup from the start, and yours is an exception. That looks like an excellent build!
