new rig

Hi, I just joined this web today and was wonder if anyone could help on my new build. I got most of the things planned out and already have an Antec 900 case, i just need a decision on the power supply and need to make sure if everything is compatible. I need the PSU to use 2 GPUs and 3 harddrives, which i will be getting in the future.

-Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00ghz with 6MB cache at 1333FSB
-Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA HDD

-Corsair XMS2 Dominator 4GB 1066
-ATI HD 4870

-OCZ Vendetta CPU Cooler


-Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit
-Samsung SyncMaster 22' Widescreen LCD

I just bought the Antec TruePower Quattro 850W for $120 (NCIX sale). Couldn't resist such a deal on a rather amazing modular power supply. Lowest ripple in it's class I'd say.

Your build looks fine. Might want to go with the WD 640GB hard drive though and you could go with the cheaper G.SKILL RAM.

sorry for the late reply but, at first i was going with g.skill but theres not a lot of stores that sell and with shipping i could get the corsair for the same price, also i hear that WD are very loud, from what i hear.

Get Mushkin Ascents for RAM, the Seagate is fine.

The western digital 640GB is on sale for 90$ from NCIX and is upto 25% faster then other 500Gb drives also may I suggest getting a 4Gb kit of Mushkin ascents RAM cheaper then the dominators and equal or greater OC'in capabilities.....welcome to the forums btw
