First off, Welcome to the forums!!!!

Are you currently serving with the PPCLI? Where are you posted?

As far as your choices go......

I'd have a look at the new Mushkin 4G kits. Either the PC2 8000 or PC2 8500 should do the trick. I'd also suggest at least a 750W PSU if you plan to do crossfire, the corsair TX750 should fit the bill, and is normally on sale for around what you've got the 650W listed at.

Have a second look at your NCIX cart, most OSs come with a "free ground shipping for whole order". If the 64bit vista doesn't, have a look around to find something that does and you'll be saving yourself $100 shipping! If you can't find something with "free shipping for whole order", then consider buying the case locally, that's what's got your shipping so high.

Welcome to the forums PPCLI. Also just a note....watch the weekly specials and you will probably save at least $100 off of those prices and like Wilson would recomend a little better memory. Just a thought but if you are buying everything at once Canada Direct has free ground shipping for orders over $300. Just my two cents an good luck with your build......don't forget to post pics and benches.

Right now (as of about 30 min ago when i ordered it) the Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit DVD OEM has free shipping for the whole order, try removing the one in your cart and re-adding it to get the free shipping deal.

The build looks good other then the PSU as mentioned allready

I'm not in PPCLI, I'm currently in cadets but i plan to join the forces after College

2nd I'm not going to be building anytime soon, not till the middle of august after my summer job Staff at Penhold, AB (30mins from Red Dear) is done which is where I'm getting most of my cash.
Plus side is the new gpu's will be out so prices will have hopefully dropped, negatives who knows what will be the new thing to buy
I'll look into the better psu and ram Ty

For gaming, I think E8400 would be a better fit, no ? Cheaper and faster. And E8600 will be out someday.

Unless you're planning on doing some extremely heavy video editing, 8 gig of memory is overkill, and might cause issues with compatability/overclockability.

If it were me, I'd go with just two 2G sticks.

Hopefully somebody will chime in here as well to verify cable lengths for that PSU in the Antec 900 case. (Pretty sure it's good to go, but there's nothing better than hands on confirmation.)

8 GB might be worth it if you don't want to upgrade down the road. DDR2 has already started to take an upswing in prices and, w/ DDR3 soon to be mainstream, I'm sure the long-term trend will continue upwards.

However, as sswilson said, 8 GB is overkill for the majority of users.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned; MAKE USE OF NCIX's PRICE MATCH FEATURE.

Weekly specials are all fine and dandy, but using NCIX's price match and some Canadian price search engines, you can save yourself a small fortune.

Here's a better system for less money:
