Memory: There are some really good quad channel 32GB kits on sale right now. For example this G.Skill @ $149: G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15Q-32GRR - Newegg.com

Next up the AIO. I'm going to suggest the Corsair H80i GT. At $78 after rebate....killer deal: Corsair Hydro Series™ H80i GT High Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm - Newegg.com

GPU. Gigabyte GTX 980 Windforce at $479: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980 DirectX 12 GV-N980WF3OC-4GD (rev. 1.0/1.1) 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support WINDFORCE 3X GAMING Graphics Card - Newegg.com

PSU time! Corsair AX760. 80+ Platinum at just $115 after rebates.....yes please! CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready - Newegg.com

The storage system will be interesting. With $120 left, there aren't many choices but the Crucial BX200 480GB would be my suggestion: Crucial BX200 2.5" 480GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT480BX200SSD1 - Newegg.com

Hope that helps!

M2 go with Samsung 950 Pro SSD comes in 256 or 512Gb, bios see's it and windows

Notice: if your going to have multiple GPU's you will loose a PCI-e slot to M2 also your limit to your 28 lane CPU means single GPU support. the 40 lane would best suited for your video stuff

This is my Photoshop computer configeration

Photoshop is RAM and CPU intensive but usually 16 GB sufficient

the next bottleneck is the video card Check your memory interface 256 Bit and a good memory bandwith - spend your money on the card not extra RAM

Putting the OS and applications on a fast SSD and there is no delay reading an writing large files. Long term storage a RAID 1 with two harddrives

My proposed rig will be quiet

Why are gaming cards being discussed with a photoshop production machine? Get a firepro or quadro card. They are perfectly fine for light gaming. While the "gaming" cards are shit for production.

The build above is pretty solid for that, although I think the firepro cards are a bit cheaper. Personally id go with a xeon and ecc.. but hey overclocking a production machine is what we should be doing now right?

Thanks all for the great input! Motherboard arrived yesterday.

I was looking at 32Gb DDR @ 2400mhz for RAM. Is that sufficient enough or should i consider a faster speed?

@victormolyneaux whats your workflow for storing media? Im thinking of using the m.2 for boot and apps, a 120gb SSD for project files (.prproj, .psd), cache files, and my lightroom catalog. Then install 2x240GB SSD in Raid 0 for exports. Or should i just install 1x4TB HD (mechanical) for exports/archives? One more thing as far as SSD's brands Samsung EVO or OCZ Vector 180?

Graphic cards I'm still on the fence with. A quadro would be nice as my friend is rocking a K5200, but can't afford that right now. What do you guys think of the FireproW7100?

My System Specs

The workspace could be done with 2 hdds in raid 0 while the final product should rest on a raid 1 array. Wd blue hdds could be involved, no need for black.

Here's my parts page on pcpartpicker:
Intel Core i7-5820K, Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV - System Build - PCPartPicker

I might have gone overboard on the PSU. Whats the ideal wattage for this system with room for upgrades?

just pulled the plug on a GTX TITAN. Found a good deal i could not pass on amazon. I did get it used, however the seller has 100% rating with the option to return. Let see what happens.

I'll post pics as soon as it arrives.
