My System Specs

Default Upgrade current system for current games

I'm looking at upgrading my current system in order to run some of the newer games.

This is my current system:

Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Pro
Processor: Intel Core i7 860 w/ Cooler Master Hyper 212+
Memory: 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600
SSD: Intel X25-M G2 80GB
HDD: WD Black 1TB
PSU: Corsair TX750W
Case: Lancool PC-K62
Optical: Samsung 24x DVD Burner
OS: Windows 8 64-bit

Basically I'm looking at getting a better video card for 1080p gaming and a larger SSD so I can keep more games installed on it. I also figure I may as well up my RAM since I still only have 4GB.

I assume that CPU/mobo/everything else are still good enough for gaming.

Here is what I was looking at getting:

GPU: EVGA GTX760 superclocked @259.99

SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 250GB @169.99
http://www.ncix.com/detail/samsung-8...87761-1069.htm
RAM: 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 @46.98
http://www.ncix.com/detail/g-skill-r...b-8d-42745.htm

Should the GTX760 perform a nice bit better than my HD5850 at 1080p?
8GB should be enough for gaming?
SSD is a good upgrade? I don't really care enough to go with a Pro model for that kind of price difference.

Not bad parts choices but in this current market used is your friend the market is flooded with used cards at super discounts. Buy a used card and save the money for larger ssd and more ram and power it out for another few years :)

For $260 I can't really find a better deal on 760 that doesn't have crazy shipping to Canada. New or used. And this also comes with Watch Dogs which I was going to spend $60 on anyway.

This is 5870 vs gtx 760, so yes it would be worth your while from a 5850.

Great choices and I don't think you would have any regrets. As mentioned above, if you don't mind used there are some great deals on used gtx 670/680 (faster than a 760) and AMD card prices are also back to normal if you want to stay with AMD.
