Default m-itx Budget Upgrade Suggestions

Hey my current I5 1156 system is on its last legs, the motherboard is on its way out again, rather then trying to find another replacement for it i have decided to build my first m-Itx computer.

I will be reusing a lot of my Current components on this build

Need Suggestions for a new CPU, Motherboard and Video card.

I have a hd 7770 that I can use for a place holder if i need to wait on a card

1. What YOUR PC will be used for.
Gaming and photo editing, media storage it will have 4 2tb drives in it so 6 sata ports is a must

2. What YOUR budget is.
Around $600

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Canada will be buying from ncix if possible, newegg is second choice

4. IF YOU have a brand preference.
I would prefer to stay with intel and AMD Gpu

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts
Bitfenix prodigy
2x4 GB of Gskill xf3 ram
256gb Plextor M5 pro
4x 2TB WD Blacks
Hyper 212 plus ( if it fits)
Windows 7 ultimate
keyboard, mouse

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
Yes iv been looking a little bit but i am 3 years behind on components

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
overclocking on cpu only

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
this week

9. What resolution and settings do you use?
1920x1080 med to high settings

10. Are there any specific technologies you want?
USB 3.0 support, SATA3 6.0Gb/s, onboard raid controller would be nice so i can re purpose this build into a media server down the road.

$600 budget and your suggesting a $240 board and a $140 block... really? And he has the prodigy already.

Photo editing isn't tooo intensive on ram and cpu (at least not till you start using LOADS of effects on high res images etc)

I5 for gaming is fine, and a board to suit then a s big a gpu as you can fit in the budget really. not much to advise on...

AMD GPU's are really over-priced at the moment.. and thats IF you can get them at all due to people buying them up for mining. I'd stick in a Asus 770DCII or 760, add it to the i5 and see what boards lie in your budget.

Also, do overclock the GPU (Especially if you go Nvidia) it's just slide the power target all the way up, max the voltage (it's locked and is a tiny increase) then give it a lil bit extra on the ram and core.. you don't have to push any limits but that card and the locked voltage makes it basically risk free and the card will over-clock itself anyway because of how it works to save power heat etc. Your just allowing it to go a lil bit farther.

Mobo : Asus H87I-plus, has 6 sata ports
CPU : Core i3-4330, 3.5 GHz 2c/4T
GPU : the GTX760 from GB, the V2.0 one GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0
all these 3 would be below 550 before taxes and shipping so should fit fine in your budget.

I love the look of that board, im now torn between the 4330 and maybe spending a little more money on a quad

Would it be worth it to jump to http://products.ncix.com/detail/inte...l-e0-81330.htm or should i just go all the way with
http://products.ncix.com/detail/inte...l-92-81329.htm

Im very undecided with the video card, would love to have a 280x but the damn miners have driven the cost up and made them impossible to find

If budget is a high concern then the i3 will definitely do the job, but the 4570 would be a solid improvement over the i3 and a great pick. The 4430 is fine as well if you get it cheap, but it has a much lower boost speed then the 4570 (3.0 boost to 3.2 on the 4430 and 3.2 boost to 3.6 on the 4570).

Also, for the most part I have to agree that AMD cards have been pushed too expensive to recommend at this point in time.
