When I said it's the new standard I meant as in it's the new version of the 802.11 standard. Not that everyone is using it and everything else is dead..

You're splitting hairs and confusing the issue for the uninitiated. 802.11A/B/G/N/AC are capital S Standards published by the IEEE LAN/MAN Committee. We should refer to which one is most common instead of calling it the standardly used one.

Each router is labelled as to which IEEE Standards it conforms to.
