Default Pc build: 1000$ really need suggestions

Hi guys, I have the Asus G75V and I want to get a PC.
Can I have something better than what I have at the moment ( Asus G75V ) for 1000$ ???
Considering I will need a monitor maybe I should stay with my laptop ?

Thanks in advance for suggestions !!

TBH you could probably nearly match it but it's very much not going to be high-end.

What do you want to use it for?

Consider a "station" that you can plug your laptop into and use as a PC? (Mouse, monitor, keyboard, speakers etc)
Then maybe once you have them you'll later look at a PC again and without the extra's then it would be more feasible.

Sorry, I want a PC for gaming only.
Should have stated it at first.

Personally, with your Lappy being so good, I would consider a lil "station" setup and leave it there as with the screen etc your not going to match the lappy for gaming on that budget.

I would grab a cooler for the lappy along with the stuff above from the last post and call it a day.

I don't know $1000 will get some nice parts if you choose real careful and find good deals, I would be very keen on going the new Radeon R2xx series route as well as they look like they are going to be one hell of a performance king with all AMD is putting towards their developing relations and new things in the pipe.
Cpu ~$200
GPU ~$300
PSU ~$100
Case ~$75
memory $50
hard drive $70
motherboard $150
--------------------
$945

it can be done if you take the time to research the parts out and shop in the right places :)

Add to that a decent display, keyboard and speakers, and you're looking at minimum $1200-$1300 for a decent gaming rig.

I would do what has been previously suggested and buy a monitor, fullsize keyboard, decent mouse and speakers/headset and plug them all into your lappy. Then, when you have more money saved up, you can build a rig, and have all the peripherals ready to go.
