Ah, good catch on the board.

Also, while it's a little more money, the ASUS M5A97 is a fantastic, extremely reliable board. Should your friend's mom want a little more performance, you should be able to throw a cooler on there and get a nice stable overclock very easily (I hit 3.8 24/7 stable with mine without really trying).

I'll think about it but she is on a cheap athlon system with dedicated graphics, anything will be light years faster. Might get the board so if she ever needs a little boost I can suggest to her a cheap cooler and overclock.

I hear ya on the asus boards though, I'm running a P8Z77-V with an i5-3570k and it OC's to 4.2ghz on air no problem.

I'm also 90% sure but the ram baing 1600Mhz on a board that only goes to 1333Mhz is fine right? The ram will just be underclocked?

Correct. I used 1600Mhz RAM when I had a 965/M5A97 and just defaulted to 1333.
