Memory "compatible"

Hi there,

I bought 2 x 4Gb Ram Vengeance, that i will put in dual channel of course

But if i put 2 x 1GB of other ram, on the 2nd dual channel (to make 10 GB total)

Will the 2nd set affect the first one? Will the specs total be lower because of that?

I heard that Memory will kind of "adapt" to the lowest (cheapest) memory installed

Any help will be appreciate =) Thanks!

First set is (2x4GB) : Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Dual Channel Memory Kit - DirectCanada

2nd set is (2x1GB) : A-Data DDR2-667 SDRAM 333 MHz

First set is DDR3, second set is DDR2 . DDR2 will not fit in your mobo if its DDR3 and vice versa.

Even if it was all DDR3, stick with the 8GB, will be plenty and more slower memory would do you no favors.
