Help Needed for my first Gaming PC

Hello everyone...

Although I am knowledgeable with computers I have never put one together myself. I've been told this board is the most helpful for this type of advice.

I am looking to build a mid-ranged gaming PC for around $1,000. I am open to all ideas and wanted to see what hardware everyone suggests?

I already have dual monitors, a mouse, and keyboard. So no need to include these in the specs.

My main goal is to have a machine that can play games at the highest level possible. I have been told that for $1,000 I will not get a PC that can run the newest games at max settings. If this is true, how much more will I have to spend to achieve this goal?

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. (Gaming and web browsing)

2. What YOUR budget is. (around a 1000 but as high as 1200)

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from. (USA)

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. (None)

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts (monitors, mouse, keyboard)

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds. (Not sure, all help would be appreciated)

8. WHEN do you plan to build it? (In the next month or so)

9. What resolution and settings do you use? (I have two 32" 1080P monitors. I would like to run games as smoothly as possible though.)

10. Are there any specific technologies you want? (SSD and USB 3.0 would be nice)

You can get damn close.. I have a build from someone else, Intel Core i5-3570K, Sapphire Radeon HD 7870, Zalman Z9 Plus - System Build - PCPartPicker

That should be pretty good.

Dunno what the story is on playing games on 2 screens, I wasn't able to but then that may be because mine are 2 different resolutions.

Bump the gpu to a 7970 for playing on multiple screens.

The SSD as pointed out in another thread is a bit older but damn good value,
I would possibly bump the case a bit if you have the room in your budget.

That should at least give you an idea of what you can get.

Although I originally wanted to play on two screens, I did not think about the fact I would have 1-2" of black bars in the middle of my view (from the borders or the Samsung screens). I have no problem playing on my 32" screen anyway.

I was told that I could use three screens but with my budget I cannot afford a card that can support 5780 x 1080 (or something close to that)...

Above is all valid.. though the 660Ti is overpriced IMO, just like all Nvidia cards at the moment.
You can have a 7950 for that price and that comes with 2 free games. And the 7950 should be better at larger resolutions (multi-screen)
