Solely streaming HD movies, blu-rays. Browsing on the internet, playing videos. No gaming.

Are you using any spare parts?
Yes, I am using my LG BH10LS30 Blu-ray/DVD intern rewriter, since it has no use at all in my desktop PC. Also using an external HDD, so I don't need an internal HDD for storage in it.

EDIT: Going for a A6 5400K and DDR3-1866 4GB RAM now.

When?
I don't know yet, we have a media player, but it's not working that well.

Resolution?
1920x1080 42" television. I don't know the refresh rate. Also connecting it to a DENON AVR receiver.

Specific technologies?
USB 3.0, SATA III, SSD for booting, HDMI.

Please criticise my build as much as possible. I am planning to put in a 1866 MHz RAM, because I read it works better with an APU. And will the A4-5300 run everything I want to run (no gaming) flawless, without any lag or so? Will I also need a Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev B, or will the stock cooler suffice?

Looks good. Since you have an FM2 socket board selected (supports trinity APU's) Maybe get the A6-5400 cpu. It runs a bit faster than the A4 and will have a bit more power if you ever plan to play 3D content. The A4 should be good enough though if you don't want to spend 30 bucks more. Otherwise the build looks good. You should be ok with stock cooling. Whatever will fit your case.

The A6-5400K is €21,50 more expensive than the A4-5300 yes.

But to play 3D content, we first need a 3D tv... And we all hate 3D as it is now, since it will give an headache in notime for us. So I don't think we'll be playing any 3D ever.

Knowing AMD, is the FM2 socket future proof? If they are making more IGPs in the future, will they also be used with the FM2 socket. If yes, you can always upgrade the CPU when you find this one lacking power, but maybe the A6-5400K will be a more solid choice for the price difference, yes.

Since you won't be using 3D, I'm sure that the A4 will sufficient to play HD movies. The A6 will just give you a little extra boost if you need it for other PC tasks. As far as AMD's socket longetevity is concerned, I'm not sure how long FM2 will be supported. FM1 only lasted for one generation of APU's and then FM2 came out. I dunno if they will go to FM3 for the next round of chips.

Looks fine, but I would also suggest going to an a6... The a4 will work fine for now, but an a6 should give you a bit more longevity out of your htpc before you need an upgrade. Also amd APU respond well to faster memory, if you can get some 1866mhz ram for a relatively minimal cost increase I would suggest it.
