Need a new PC

Heya everyone!

Right now, I have a laptop, which is kinda dead, this is why I want to buy a nice PC.
I was saving money for a new PC for a long time, and finally I decided to buy it.

Since I'm dumb in the hardware things, I want to ask for your help!

I will use my PC for the following:

- playing (everything must run on max, even the latest and upcoming games)
- VFX/3D work (filming, rendering, and maybe some 3D -I don't work with 3D but you know...maybe in the future I will need it- same as games, need the best for this as well)
- streaming, and such things (I could not do these because of my laptop, maybe now I can start doing it... )
- 24/7 usage (I like playing games all day long or downloading stuff during night so cooling, and other things are important too)

I don't wanna overclock or anything (because I know nothing about it as I said before ^^), is the -3770 enough?
But I was told for that VGA I need at least 4GHz or more (on/for full HD) so I should overclock it.

Is this enough for this PC? Or do I need more?

Anything else, I'm missing?

Unless you're doing some serious Video/Image editing, you don't really need a hyper-threaded i7 processor. You'll be more than happy with an i5 3570, and save $100. If you think you'll never overclock get the 'non-K' version, and save $10. If you think you'll ever overclock (actually not that hard to do) spend the extra $10 and get the 3570K.

Sounds like whoever told you that was feeding you a bag of ass. The processor really doesn't have much to do with driving an image on your display.

That cooler is MORE than enough for that PC. That cooler should support 4.5GHZ+ overclocks, nevermind stock clocks like you'll have at first.

I think I will need that i7, because my main hobby/job is the video editing and stuff :)

Id suggest the i7 myself. Ive gone from a 2600k to a 3570k and Ive noticed the difference in a lot of things. Once I get myself out of xmas debt I will be jumping to a 3770k.

I cant give any suggestions on a chassis since thats something you would have to choose based on what you want it to look like and functionality.

I would also recommed a better psu - thats one component you really dont want to cheap out on.

The AX you listed first time was a pretty good PSU, Seasonic built if memory serves.. Seasonic are very good (though tend to be a bit more expensive)

3570k will be very good at editing, for really heavy amounts of editing / rendering etc then the 3770k will be justified.

Built on a z77 extreme4 for my brother, pretty happy overall. Not had to deal with an RMA / don't know where they have a facility, MSI might be a better choice if your based in Canada.

Not a huge fan of corsair memory. Like the Gskill stuff myself.. get cl9 and 1.5v rather than 1.65.. With the editing and possible 3d work and the cheap price of ram, get yourself 16GB (2x8gb)

And personally I wouldn't even bother with an optical drive at all, unless you actually still use disks.

even though asrock is cheaper i personally don't like their boards i would go with a Gigabyte or Asus and i would choose the corsair Ram and the 80+ bronze PSU then you have space to upgrade in the future.

Asrock is pretty stable and has more features than Asus in the same price range. If you're not adding a soundcard then Asrock is better for gaming as it has the latest audio chipset that Asus only offers on $200+ boards.

Samsung 840 250GB is the best sub $200 SSD overall and with the newest controller.

Not worth saving $10 for non-k version of CPU. Get it anyways and see where you go from there.

for 24/7 usage WD blacks are the worst choice! unstable, Loud, power hungry, very fast but nothing like SSDs. Since you will have a SSD, you should get slower, quieter, and efficient HD. WD reds are made for 24/7 usage, Greens are a bit less stable but are quieter and consume less power. Do it right and install your OS, games, apps etc. on the SSD, and files (music, movies, documents etc.) on the HDD then the speed of your HD is not an issue.

For PSU 650W is all that you need with headroom for overclocking. Your rig at stock will barely tap 400W

The Vertex 3 max IOPS is possibly more expensive than newer drives.. as said above, samsung are good, intel 520 and vertex 4 would be my other suggestions.

On the HDD, the blacks are awesome drives, never had a seconds problem with any of the 7 I've had / have or the many others I put in friends builds.. Though the speed isn't really needed and they are LOUD
