I will advise my friend to try and get a 120GB SSD if he can, hopefully there will be some good deals on Boxing Day. :)

Samsung 840 120 is $100, and for the same price that power supply should be changed. OCZ is going through some financial issues right now so I would worry about warranty coverage, that and the quality is a bit iffy.

Wait for boxing day though, biggest advice you can get. The deals you get that day will determine what you are buying.

Thanks guys.

I just found out that the case will only accept Gfx cards up to 10.5 inches in length, the 7870 is 11.6 inches, so looks like a revision is needed, either change the case or change the gfx card.

Looks good, although you can find an ASUS 7870 DCII for the same price as the HIS that you picked, and IMO, it's a much better graphics card. Also, it's 10.47" long.

I second Bond007's suggestion to put the 64GB SSD (quite useless size I have found from experience) and put the money towards an i5 processor. Then, pick up a 128gb SSD in a couple monthes.

Now your looking great. Just wait for sales tonight. Should be able to save $30 or so on an equivalently good powersupply.

So my friend just went ahead and purchased everything before the Boxing Day sales as he was so excited, but he also purchased whatever the NCIX rep told him too. Not a bad selection of parts, I built it last night and when I left no issues.
