My System Specs

Default Need second look for office computer build

1. What YOUR PC will be used for.
Office computer that I want to be stable, quick, and relevant for a long period of time

2. What YOUR budget is.
$1000

3. What country
USA - most likely newegg

4. IF YOU have a brand preference.
Higher quality parts and brands - Intel, Silverstone, Corsair, Coolermaster, G-Skill, etc

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts
no

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
Yes, like smaller form factor computers

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
default settings and BIOS

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
soon - weeks

9. What resolution and settings do you use?
Normal settings

10. Are there any specific technologies you want?
USB 3.0 support, SSD (solid state drives), SATA3 6.0Gb/s.

Can't decide on Micro ATX versus Mini ITX. Seems like ITX is a bit more expensive, often the PSU comes with the case and maybe lower quality and maybe non-standard size, uses more expensive slimline DVD drive but is smaller. Micro ATX a bit bigger, can take normal PSU, a little cheaper build.

Thoughts and advice? Thanks in advance!

My System Specs

Default

Your i3 and z77 mobo are more expensive than the best amd apu on a decent gigabyte board.

Here is a a85 mobo from gigabyte :

Gigabyte F2A85XM-D3H w/ DDR3 1866, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit LAN, VGA, DVI-D, HDMI at Memory Express

Here is the a10 apu

AMD A10-5800K APU, Black Edition 3.8GHz w/ 4MB Cache at Memory Express

Total of 230 bucks Canadian. USB 3.0 and Sata III 6Gb and is micro ATX.

The plus side of owning a z77 mobo is being able to upgrade to an i5 or i7 in the future, which are great for productivity.
