Some upgrade suggestions
Thinking of getting this: NCIX Bundle Deal AMD Performance Edition 8GB 2X4GB Memory & Gigabyte 970A-DS3 AMD970 ATX Motherboard

if not another mobo + the same set of ram

This as a case: Fractal Design Define XL Titanium E-ATX Tower Silent Computer Case 4X5.25 10X3.5INT USB3.0 No PS or Cooler Master Storm Trooper EATX Full Tower Case Black No PS 9X5.25 Front USB3.0

I'm going to keep my Phenom II 965 BE and the Antec PSU and also thinking of getting another 2 TB hdd and an ssd.

I think that these parts would be a little better choice:

ASUS M5A97 R2.0 - $94.99 - same chipset as the Gigabyte board, but I think a much nicer board
G.SKILL Ripjaws 1600MHZ 2x4GB DDR3 Memory - $34.99

Total: $129.99 - better price, better products.

One key way the M5A97 R2.0 is better than the Gigabyte is the inclusion of an internal USB 3.0 header.

It also has an 8-pin CPU power connector (vs 4-pin on the Gigabyte) and an arguably better VRM heatsink

Thanks for the input. As for the case I think I'm going with the Fractal. I like the cleaner design.

Storage wise, this Western Digital Red 2TB SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Disk Drive HDD But I still don't know which ssd to pick.

Your link in your first post to what I'm assuming was supposed to be the Fractal case is actually linked to some Memory.

The WD RED drive that you picked is actually designed for use in a NAS server system. I'm not sure how well they work in a desktop system.

For $10 more, you can get a Seagate Barracuda 3TB HDD - $128.99. This drive is the 1TB per platter drive that actually has very decent performance for a spindle drive.

As far as an SSD goes, the favorite around here for price/performance is the Crucial M4 128GB SSD - $104.99 at NCIX right now.

Thanks, fixed the link. I actually have 3 Seagates right now. 1x320GB 1x1.5TB internal and one 320GB external. My OS is on the 320 one and it takes more time to load than usual, freezes sometimes for 1-2 seconds. Could be something else, but I suspect the hdd.

Sometimes Harddrives die. It honestly shouldn't affect your view of a certain manufacturer.

An SSD should fix your problem, and then you can run your 1.5TB Seagate drive as a secondary drive. Unless you need extra storage, then go with the 3TB that I linked to.

Fractal Design Define XL Titanium E-ATX Tower Silent Computer Case 4X5.25 10X3.5INT USB3.0 No PS
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 - $94.99 -
G.SKILL Ripjaws 1600MHZ 2x4GB DDR3 Memory - $34.99
Crucial M4 128GB SSD

Subtotal: $374.96 CAD

Nice :thumb:

I'll just throw in the ssd for now, and if I'll need extra space after I'll buy the 3TB Seagate also.
