The asrock z77 extreme 4 you had listed is fine, have heard its pretty good at overclocking, I have an asrock in my amd build and it is straight forward, also considered that board on sale for my 3570K but picked the msi z77a-gd65 because of looks and a few features. Asia and gigabyte make good boards too. Basically comes down to features you need and what you like looks and functionality wise

I was actually looking at that MSI z77-gd65...

The Asrock has only 2 6gb/s Sata III ports would be nice to have more for the future
Actually found the ASRock Z77 Extreme6

And the setup is looking like this:

Intel Core i5-3570K, MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti, Thermaltake Commander MS-I ID - System Build - PCPartPicker

just over the 1200usd budget and I hope that black friday saves me some $$$ :)

The RAM still bugs me... Any suggestions?

I use corsair ram in both my builds, xms3 1333mhz in amd build and vengance low profile 1600 in intel build. I only game so I have 8gb and do not know about the benefits of more in other scenarios. You could always go with 2 x 4 gb and ad another kit later if you need it, but if you think you may need 16 it's probably cheaper to do it all together

I've been looking at some FX 8350 reviews, adn thinking about the performance in video rendering and such... I'll be doing some and I'm not really sure... Is the i5 3570k really that behind in that aspect? I know the i5 is the mid pack leader in gaming in terms of $$$ but the FX8350 is bad at gaming? (I know 8 cores woudl beat 4 in encoding but in the other scenarios?

Anyone has a word on this? ^^

Talk me out or into buying AMD vs Intel (i5 3570k vs FX8350)
Pros and cons would be nice :)

Well Ill go MSI/Intel

Was still looking around inbetween mb's and re-watched this video...
MSI Z77 Mpower Hand Tested Overclocking Motherboard Showcase Featuring MSI Alex! NCIX Tech Tips - YouTube

So.. thx Linus? Hehe

i think I'm all set up... I'll be waiting to see if I can get some sweet black friday deals on the components :D

Finished component list:

CPU:
Intel i5 3570k

CPU COOLER:
H60 (Not the new version... picked it up for $49.99)
MoBo:
Z77 MPOWER from MSI

MEMORY:
4x4gb Corsair Vengeance LP (I like the slick look of the low profile sticks, is there any performance difference?)

STORAGE:
SSD m4 128gb
WD 500gb Green (Previous PC)
WD 500gb Caviar Blue (Previous PC)
(2 External 1tb each already owned)

VIDEO CARD:
MSI GTX 660 TI 2GB

CASE:
NZXT Tempest 410 Elite

PSU:
X4 Ultra 1050w 80+ (Yeah, I know most of you don't like the brand, and I'm sure its an overkill, but hey.. fully modular, 80+ Silver if I remember correctly and for 139.99 after rebates? who beats that???? :D)

OPTICAL DRIVE:
LG 24x Writter (Oh the cheapest I could find ^^)

Thats it :) Any Final Thoughts? (The only items I bought already are: PSU, CPU COOLER, OPTICAL DRIVE).

Well it is an Andyson PSU which are kind of hit or miss... it might be great or it might blow up your computer... roll the dice.
