Default New Gaming pc - Help

Hi everyone,

I am currently using a seven years old computer equipped with:
System model: P5K-E
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Graphics card: Twintech GeForce GTS450 (1GB GDDR5
Memory: 4GB RAM DDR2

I am about to go to the shop and buy some cheap new equipment. Before doing so I'd like to check if this will have a huge impact on my current computer, will it be much better?, and is it worth the purchase? or should I wait to have more money?

New equipment:
ASUS P8Z77-V LX (SOCKET 1155, PCI EXPRESS, INTEL Z77 CHIPSET, 2 X SATA II RAID + 2 SATA III RAID,..
8GB KIT (2 X 4GB) DDR3 1600MHZ 9-9-9-24 CORSAIR VENGEANCE BLUE CML8GX3M2A1600C9B
INTEL CORE I5-3570K 22NM (3.4 ~ 3.8GHZ) IVY BRIDGE, 6MB, 4 CORES, 4 THREADS, TURBO, INTEL HD,..

These will cost me a grand total of 375 euros.

What would you recommend me to do? or to change.
(sidenote: What is the difference between p8z77-v LX and other p8z77-v's that cost much more, for instance p8z77-v LE, p8z77-v Deluxe,etc...)

Thank you very much in advance!

Not sure of the specific motherboard differences, but its usually features/connectivity.

You will see a substantial improvement in anything cpu related with the upgrade. Even gaming will improve in CPU intensive titles. You will now be GPU limited in all games. Go for the upgrade.

The reason I am asking for the differences between the motherboards is because the price range is massive.

The one I listed only costs 110 euros, whereas the others are around the 170-220 euros mark.

Its features. The price is more linear in increase here. A quick look on newegg.ca and they are $141, $146, $178, $185...etc. Each time adding some features such as more pcie slots, more sata6 connectors, more usb connectors, displayport, wireless internet, esata, heatsinks on the VRM for better temps/ overclocking. You pay more you get more. If you don't need any of the additional features, then there is no reason to waste the money.

The major thing with the P8Z77-v LX is that it only supports crossfire and not SLI. So in the future if you ever plan on upgrading an nvidia card to two of them, you will have to buy a whole new motherboard. That was the mistake I made when purchasing the LX. Just something to keep in mind when purchasing that motherboard.
