i sold my pc today and its time to build something new, i want your guys opinions on what i should buy, quality products and a quite small pc is what im looking for. here is what i will do with the computer: Play Minecraft, Convert tv episodes to watch on my tablet, play other new games on and surf the web. main question is intel or amd, and nvidia or ati. everything will be running at 1080p. i need everything for a tower except a storage drive. price is about 1200, matx is prefered. what do you guys think i should get, i will be picking most of the stuff up monday and the rest next week. oh and i can only buy with cash or online from ncix or used on here for the less important stuff.

Please define "play other new games", are you talking about other "minecraft" type games or something that uses more graphics power? I think with your budget at 1200 you can easily do an intel/nvidia build.

no need of 750 watt PSU and certainly not at that price.. Corsair TX650V2 for $80 will be perfect and is seasonic built.
Intel drives are expensive(but damn good) other slightly more budget friendly options that are just as quick include the samsung 830 and the Vertex 4.
Don't bother with a dvd drive, install OS from a USB key, much faster.. And really what else do you use a dvd drive for these days?

I disagree on the TX650 recommend, I am sure there is a cheaper option than the one I mentioned out there that will work, but I think that for a build like this (mATX) preferred that a fully-modular power supply is needed. I am sure he can get away with a 650 as well, I just have a habit of going a bit over usually with a power supply.

Agree for sure on a cheaper SSD drive, but the Intel seemed to fix his budget so why not :P

Just get the 660 Watt Seasonic X for a bit less than the 750. And you can go for a Sandisk SSD to save some more, they're really decent.

Also, another member pointed this out last night, and at this price for this card I would scrap the Nvidia card I posted and get this MSI Radeon HD 7950 Twin Frozr III - $269.99. Thats an awesome deal

so im linking everything but the mother board, i just dont like asrock. and i forgot to say i dont need a dvd drive. i got a usb drive with windows on it already. i will grab the video card tomorrow morning along with an ssd and power supply. My main goal is to not get most expensive thing out there its just to get something that is reliable and not cheap.
i think im going to pickup this XFX 750W XXX Edition Semi Modular 12V 62A 24PIN ATX Power Supply 80PLUS Bronze Certified psu, only because it will fit inside of my LianLi V351 i have sitting in my shop.
