My System Specs

Default My first PC build

This was my first time building a PC so it's not that great haha

Mobo: Sabertooth Z77
CPU: 3570K
CPU cooler: H100
RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB 1600MHz
GPU: Asus DirectCU II 660Ti
PSU: AX650
Case: 650D
SSD: Intel 520 120GB
Storage Drive: Barracuda 1.5TB

I was wondering if this was an okay build. I'm pretty happy with it so far haha. Also, if there are anything I can change to get more performance, please let me know! Thinking about going SLI but I think I need a new PSU for that.

Your build looks nice as it is, however if you haven't already purchased the GPU and are already considering SLI perhaps a 670 would be a better investment. What is your displays resolution? Are you using it for gaming?

Quality stuff, looks good. I always recommend getting a bigger psu than you need because once the building bug gets you, you almost always keep upgrading.

I would drop down your ram unless your planning to overclock. You can get a Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600 kit for about half the cost of the Platinum and really all your loosing is those nice LED's, not sure if you already built it or not. Overall good choice on parts.

One more note you could drop down the H100 also to save some cash if your not planning to overclock, the H60 or H80 are a bit cheaper and you still get that water block feel.

even if you plan to overclock the H60 should be ok, the H100 is more for SB-E setups. RAM wise I would go with a 8GB kit under 50$ on 1866MHz. Otherwise the build is balanced. Maybe a tad more powerful PSU if you have SLI in mind, something at 850W maybe.

650 should be fine even for sli on 660 Ti's.. Stress test might push you over but you'll rarely if ever do that in normal usage, even encoding etc. Ideally a 750 would be better but 650 will do. :)

Don't buy expensive ram.. 1600 is fine, decent timings and average voltage.. hear very good things about the samsung green stuff (low profile etc)

H60 would be my go-to for closed loops unless your really looking to get as cool as you can for those last few Mhz.
