Well since I guess you're pretty rich :), the 900D is nice, get a GTX 680 4GB version (don't worry about clocks and such, you can overclock them yourself). Get a way bigger SSD, like 512GB. Your 120GB will run out in no-time. Get 128GB RAM, and make a 112GB RAM disk for booting Windows and primary programs.

I think your video editting stuff will work very fast on a ramdisk.

Since you're having 3 monitors 4GB is a must.

Just my 2 cents, but I would get a bigger ssd. I also agree with a better PSU (Corsair ax1200).

I currently have a 3930k, Rampage 4 extreme, 680gtx sc sli, 16GB 1866, AX850, H100, 240GB Corsair GT and 650D.

If I was to rebuild it I would def get a 1200w PSU. Again just my opinion.

Im just wondering, why bother have (2) 120GB SSD?

Why not get a bigger SSD. There's a bunch of SSD's now that has excellent read and write - having it in RAID (IMO) negates it since they're already fast enough as it is. Unless you just want to bench mark and show you have a bigger E-peen.

If you're thinking about the Seasonic/XFX Platinum series, 860 is the way to go. 1000W is for triple SLI.

So i have made plans to push the build back to june and i have been saving up some money and im going to try and build the ULTIMATE PC. It will be used for 3d rendering, video editing, and gaming. what i was thinking...

Case - Corsair Obsidian 900d
Motherboard - Asus Rampage 4 extreme
Processor - Intel i7 3930k (lga 2011) overclock to 4.5
Cpu Cooler - Corsair H100i
Ram - 64gb 2133mhz of G.skill Ripjaws Z
Graphics Card - EVGA 690 4gb
SSD - 2 Intel 520 Series Cherryville 120gb in raid 0
Hard Drive - 4 Western Digital Black 1tb or 500gb in raid 10
Sound Card - Asus Xonar STX
Recording - Avermedia Live Gamer HD
Playback - Internal Blu-Ray Player
Power Supply - XFX Pro Series 1000w 80+ Platinum
External Hard drive - 3tb western digital

My plan for the memory was to set up a 48gb ram disk for a startup, autodesk maya, sony vegas pro 10, maybe a game or other applications

i will be using a 2560x1600 monitor and i also have 2 other monitors currently 1080p

i was thinking about getting the 900d for future water cooling for increased performance on cpu ram graphics card

well what do you think?

My two cents, if you don't have the money right away, start small and work your way up. Just build a simple rig with a 3570K, a 660Ti, and a few other basic parts. Then as you get more money, buy nicer parts, then sell your old components to recoup some of the cost. Yes, you'll end up spending more money in the long run, but at least in the meantime you'll have a workable rig that is still fully capable of doing all the work you want the super high end rig to do.
