3930/60K blows ALL out of the water
That'd be true if sandy bridge-E supported pci-e 3.0 and if more than 1% of the games had any benefits from hexacores CPU.

PCI-e 3.0 currently has no tangible benefits. The extra lanes included with X79 however, will make a difference in a SLI or Tri-SLI scenario. Which this guy has mentioned he's interested in.

Plus he mentioned he wants to do video editing. Even though he may be a (self-admitted) noob right now, he won't stay that way forever. And 12 threads will beat out 8 (or 4 like you suggested) every single day of the year. And hell, if he has the money, why not go with the Bling?

On monitors.. If you want to justify going for 2 cards I'd be looking at

Something like either 3x24" 1920x1200 (IPS for each or just the middle) screens or a single 27" 2560x1440 + a browser screen (standard 1080, mounted side-ways.)

$60 more than a 3930? Make sure it's legit, and go for that one! Or check to see if you can find the 3930 on the same site for a similar steal!

Well, I'm not sure if OEM makes a difference or not. One of the reviewers or more experienced guys on here would know, though.

I believe OEM CPUs doesn't come with intel stock HSF, also they most of the time don't have the usual blue intel box, just the little plastic compartment for the cpu in some random cardboard box.
