Motherboard Advice PLZ!!

Hi all , i am the middle of building my new gaming comp ... I really want a Asus ROG board , but this board caught my eye ,,, ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P8Z77-V PREMIUM...

Does the top off the line ROG board run eveything faster being a gaming board , or does this ASUS P8Z77-V PREMIUM , blow them away ....

If I'm correct the ROG Formula V Z77 will not come with Thunderbolt.

personally, I would split the difference and get the Sabertooth.

"Gaming boards" aren't any faster when gaming than your average $150 motherboard. "Gaming boards" are priced higher for everything else they do.

ie: A Z77 ROG is no faster than my P67 EVO ($229cdn) when gaming with a max of two graphics cards.

I was wondering the same thing. What would be the difference in spending 250 on a sabertooth versus a 150 regular line board?

Usually it's in the number and quality of power phases which can enhance overclock top speed, and assorted bells and whistles. Number of sata 6Gb ports, USB 3.0 ports, bluetooth, wifi, that sort of thing.

If you are looking for the maximum OC you can get, you spend the money on the top of the line boards. (Looks at his $400 Rampage IV Extreme).
