pci-e 3.0 will work no problem on that board. (at 2.0 speeds but you would need like 2x GTX 690 to see any difference)

What is your budget?

All pcie 3.0 graphics cards work perfectly fine in a pcie 2.0 motherboard.

around $350-$450. i will get xfx7870 or 7950 soon. ty all. :)

With that budget I say GTX 670 and call it a day. If you have to go AMD(ATI) then I would go for the 7870.

Have to say the 670 is an awesome card.. No personal experience of the new AMD's but I changed from an AMD card last year as I was constantly getting glitches and problems with AA.

From reports of some people the drivers aren't getting any better either.

Your choice. a 670 is easy better than a 7950 and close to a 7970 and IMO the better driver support from Nvidia (along with cooler and lower power) make the 670 the better card.

got my Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce for $395 not long ago. I think it is a great card.

heres what I would look at;

EVGA 02G-P4-2670-KR GeForce GTX 670 2GB $419.99 + free shipping

XFX Double D FX-787A-CDFC Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB $339.99 - $20 mir + $12 shipping + free game.

ty all. but, could I run gtx 670/ati 7970 on the silent pro m600w PSU in my sig rig or would I need to upgrade to a better PSU?

Check out SKYMTL's latest 670 review. The reference 670 with a OC'd 6-core CPU only pulls 325w from the wall at load. 7970 pulls 375w. Either way, your PSU should handle it no problem.
