I was just informed by the person who is selling the 6950's that he is selling his rig. I may just buy it up if the price is right. Just waiting to hear back from him. :D

what happened to core i3 cpu? it was declared a very good option for gaming, one of the best. PSU, I would go XFX core 650 I have one and is very reliable, built by Seasonic actually. Good sized SSD, 128GB, or 64 GB SSD and a pair of HDDs in RAID 0.

They are still pretty good... But people like to oc the chip and get basically 30% more out of it for free.

The raw power of CF 6950's will be pretty good.. as long as they are stable and the games you'll be playing support CF..
Whats the spec's of the rest of his machine and how much he looking for?

Well I got the full specs of the rig.

Case: Corsair 600T
Mobo: GA-890GPA-UD3H(AM3),
CPU: AMD phenom2 x4 965be @4.0ghz,
RAM: 8 GB Patriot DDR3 @ 1600mhz dual channel @ 1.6v,
PSU: Antec 850W
VGA: XFX Radeon 6950 1GB
HDD Hitachi 1T 7200RPM 64MB

He's asking $750 for it. The case is painted 3 different colour (including pink ) so he said he would take $100 off, which is reflected in the price.)

According to him, the mobo will not support crossfire as his computer locks up when he attempts to use both 6950's. Is this normal? I really wanted an I5 2500k setup, but will sacrifice for now if it's decent.

Well, I decided not to buy it. We talked for a bit and the CPU and mobo aren't going to cut it for me. I will be purchasing his dual XFX 6950's instead. I am going to pick up the Corsair 600T tomorrow from Canada Computers. I reserved the last one left in my area.

Plans will be going ahead as planned. I will update you tomorrow with the progress. W00T!!!

With 1 card I think 450 -500 for a second hand Phenom rig.. 600 with both cards at a push.. I wouldn't pay 750 for it second-hand.

Right choice IMO... Hope the CF works for you... some people have a smooth run with them some don't..

CF= Crossfire which means joining two cards together by a cable which increases performance a fair bit depending on the card because the two gpu's share the load given to them (if im wrong feel free to correct me)
