Default cpu

I have a socket 775 mobo and i need a cpu for it. A friend of mine has these 3 cpus. Could you tell me which is the best of them and about what price they should sell for, all used but apparently working. I should know this but i dont. Im guessing the 6600 is the best, but, again, it aso depends partly on the value of the cpu. And i am also guessing. Appreciate any help i can get. Thanks

CORE 2 DUO 6600 SL9S8 2.40
E6500 DUAL CORE SLGUH 2.93
E2140 DUAL CORE SLA93

cheapest e6600 on ebay is around $80 while cheapest e6500 is around $120. Which is better?

E6600 but I wouldn't pay anymore than $40 really (although I'd say more around $20-30) if I still had a need for a 775 CPU, because it is old tech. Depends what it's worth to you though, if you don't want to change to a newer platform you might be willing to spend more. Ebay's prices are usually the highest you will see for used tech products rather than BST forums mostly because of the scale. Being global a website and the huge amount of people that frequent the website, your ad gets more exposure and the more people looking for that kind of product specifically, the higher chance someone is willing to pay more for it (or doesn't know what it is valued at :P). So if people are actually buying E6600's for ~$80 on there, then fine, that's what some people are willing to pay. I don't think it is worth that much at all though.

I would get the e6600. the E6600 has 4MB cache and can OC past the speed of the e6500 (2MB cache). Tell your friend to give them to you for free.
