You know that the heatsink is connected to the cpu? (joking)
While the CM 212 isn't HUGE it's plenty big enough in any case. If anything it should work better in a larger case especially if you go 2 fans. (as long as the airflow doesn't suck)
The size is to do with surface area to dissipate heat and it does it plenty well

On the contrary, the best way to increase the cooling performance of a case is to fill most of the void between its graphics card, side panel, and top panel with the largest heat sink you can find. Bigger is better - and quieter- when it comes to heat sinks, and -oppositely- larger cases that fit more loosely around the CPU cooler often perform worse. Only a mid-tower would be a perfect match for the Hyper 212.
