new build windows wont install
 
booted my computer for the first time after the build BIOS boots fine and everything seems to be running fine but when i try installing windows (bootable USB) it will load the windows logo but then the mouse and keyboard stop working (all visual indications go off) :angry2: if you think of something causing it please post it THANKS

My first thought is the USB... can you make a bootable DVD and try off of that?

thanks for your response

i used the same usb for a few other machines and it worked fine.. and i dont see why that would cause all I/O devices to stop working..
but i'll give it a try, thanks

Are you plugging it in to a USB3 port? If so i don't think you can boot off USB3 unless you have the USB3 drivers slipstreamed in your windows installer.

That is correct. Even with drivers, I don't believe they'd load until you get to the format screen. Not 100% sure though.

So yeah, make sure nothing is plugged into the blue USB ports.

thanks guys i guess that was the problem i was using a USB 3.0 port which is attached straight to the mobo
didnt think it was a problem and that the drivers need to be installed prior to use as it detected my I/O devices but i guess for it to be able to read/right data it needs the drivers
