My System Specs

Question NEW MEDIA THEATRE PC-opinions on parts?

Here is a rough list of parts I want to use for my next build.
It will not be for gaming, and will be stripped of any resource hogging services or background running apps.
I want to take advantage of the new series intel chips. I bought a i7 960 and din't see any increase from my qx 9650 :(

CPU: core i3 2100
Intel Core i3 2100 Dual Core Hyperthreading Processor LGA1155 3.1GHZ Sandy Bridge 3MB - Intel - BX80623I32100

MOBO: ASRock Z68M-ITX
ASRock Z68M-ITX/HT Z68 mITX LGA 1155 DDR3 PCI-E16 SATA3 USB3.0 LAN HDMI DVI Audio Motherboard - ASRock - Z68M-ITX/HT

SSD: Mushkin Chronos 120GB
Mushkin Chronos 120GB 2.5IN SATA3 Sandforce SF-2281 SSD Solid State Disk Flash Drive - Mushkin Enhanced - MKNSSDCR120GB

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Vengeance Blue 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Dual Channel Memory Kit - Corsair - CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

CASE: Inwin BP655 MINI-ITX Slim Case Black 1X5.25 1X3.5(1T) 1X3.5(0.8T) Front USB Audio W/ 200W PSU - INWIN - BP655.200BL

EXTERNAL HDD ENCLOSURE: Mediasonic HF2-SU2S2 Pro Box 4 Bay 3.5IN SATA Drive Enclosure USB2.0 eSATA Black - Mediasonic - HF2-SU2S2

now what i want it to do primarily is stream very high quality 1080p video around my home using fiber cables. faster file transfers and seed torrents 24/7 now that i have a 25mbps unlimited usage connection.
I will refrain from using it for games since i have a beast for gaming already, but is it is enough for 1080p content? and if i put my bluray player in here will it have enough horsepower cpu wise to playback blurays?
my hDD's will be seperate and easier to access this way if I need to transport them.
this is just a wishlist right now, let me know if i have the right idea/if i need a graphics card? which one minimum?

The Core i3 2100 is sufficient for the intended use and probably slightly overkill. BD content shouldn't be an issue for it but 3D BD might and we'll leave that matter for another day. As for the GPU, you probably won't be needing it if you're using the CPU to do the work. If you need one in the future, any half height card will fit that casing but most half height cards are from the low end which also implies low performance, therefore I don't think it would ever be necessary to get a GPU.

Also, drop the Corsair Vengeance for cheaper Value RAMs with/without the heatsink. The performance increase here is negligible and probably not worth the extra coin. Plus it takes up more space with the tall heatsink and your case is small. Get this instead.

This will work easily. I personally would go AMD Llano though. They are the best Integrated graphics HTPCs IMHO.

thanks for the advice! I really feel confident about my choices now.
i dont feel amd's tech has fully matured but they do have an amazing roadmap. the 3870 apu with 6550gpu is a good chip.
dont get me wrong as far as graphics go i am an amd fanboy... just need to come up with 600$ for that 7970 now.
once again my goal was a lightening fast media center that my girlfriend can use without a headache.
my core duo laptop struggles so hard to playback 1080p and 720p videos I dont want that to happen at all with something new i build.
