Is this system worth $590 or $750?

HOKAY! I wanted to buy all new parts & have Ncix assemble, but well.. XD The system I was considering wouldve probably been about $1200 (not incl tax & assembly.. not incl OS)

ANYWAY! For $590, is this worth it?

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Processor, 3.30GHz w/ 6MB Cache (Jan 2012)

MB: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 w/ Dual DDR3 2133, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, 1394, CrossFireX / SLI (Jan 2012)

RAM: Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 4GB), Cerulean Blue (Jan 2012)

Case: Antec Three Hundred Case (Jan 2012) (very silent case)
2 x Scythe Slip Stream Kaze Jyuni 120MM Fan 800RPM 40.1CFM 10.7DBA (super silent fans)
extra 120mm cooling fans at the front.

And, for $750, he would include the Patriot 120gb Sata III SSD as well.
(I have major thoughts AGAINST buying used SSDs/HDs from others, b/c I don't know if there's any malicious software on these items! Is there a way to wipe both so that they're seriously, completely, brandnew?)

I would like to get your advice ASAP!!!

OH! the seller also said that he could also install 64bit Windows 7 Professional SP1 (not the usual Home Edition that comes with most PCs and laptops).

How do I make sure it's a legit copy of Win 7? And make sure he can't call MS afterwards, and ask to have the serial changed!?!?!

Well.. just checked NCIX. with just the MB, CPU & RAM, retail price is at about $430+ alone~ (not incl tax)

I would assume hes going on the fact that it is used...and computer parts are just as bad as cars (lose 50% of thier value when you take them off the lot ...Exaggeration....)


I would have to say i agree with 450-600...i definatly wouldnt get the ssd...as hes pricing it @ 160...which is too high..

Well........... on Memory Express, new system (incl the SSD) came to a grand total of $908.
w/o SSD, $695.

Sooo.. i figure he had a somewhat reasonable price. I don't know though.. XD

Is there anyone here from Vancouver, wanting to upgrade their computer!?!?!

That seems rather cheap for the performance it offers. I'd definitely re-consider as there may be problems with the parts, and he's rushing to get it off his hands to some unfortunate sap. My friend bought a very similar build a week ago and it cost him 1000 in all (not even including a SSD!).

Pretty high for used, you could shop around and come pretty close to that build new for $600.
