Default DDR3 Ram question, new vs. old

Hi new member, always scanning but figured I'd pop a question.

Try to keep my story short, my old Dell quad cord from 2009 mobo kicked on me Christmas day and I built new on some boxing day deals. I was able to salvage the 12GB DDR3 (6x2) from the Dell, however I was having some performance issues recently in Photoshop working a large file and noticed only 8GB of ram being picked up. After scanning and reading some forums I went out today and picked up some thermal grease and a new set of 12GB DDR3 (4x3). However the ram wasn't the issue, after removing and replacing the CPU it picked up the full 12GB. So to my question..

I have these new DDR3 AMD PC3-10600 1333MHz sticks and these 2009 Dell (the ram manufacture I'm not entirely sure) DDR3 PC3-8500U 1066MHz sticks

Is there going to be a considerable performance difference? I just spent $70.00 I can still return them and pocket back the money if there is going to be little or no difference.

Thanks for you time !

Performance would be 1-2% better with the faster ram. IMO return it and pocket the cash for a better upgrade down the road.
