My System Specs

Default advice please

im picking up my pc parts on friday and have yet to choose a PSU i want a 1200w that is fully modular ad has nice sleeving and atleast 80plus silver but there are loads to choose from, whats the advantage of having a sigle 12v rail.

here is what im buying

Corsair Hydro Series H100 CPU Cooler
Corsair Vengeance CML16GX3M4X1600C8 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme with Battlefield 3
Corsair Force Series GT 120GB SSD (boot drive)
Samsung SH-B123L 12X Blu-Ray DVD Combo Drive with Lightscribe
Corsair Obsidian 650D Case
Intel Core i7 3930K
amd radeon 7970 (once in stock) wil have to later on hense larger psu
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX x 2

i ben saving fo a while for this and cant wait to get all my parts but i ned some advice on a PSU
please help

Umm and you need 1200w why? Do you even know power requirements for a 7970?

i willbe using 2 7970 when i buy my parts and getting another later on down the track and will be getting a full custom watercoolig aswell, i will also be overclocking and be geting mor hdd whn the prices go back down, i will be using my pc for some gaming vido editting and programming

Unless the 7970 takes up 5 spaces and has 5 8 pin connectors you wont need anything close to that psu!
You could get by with a 750watt on that. If you want to have room to crossfire in the future though I would recommend either of seasonics new platinum PSU's. They are a little pricey but they are rock solid stable and built very well with great components. They make a 860watt and 1000watt. Either of those would be more than enough for that build. Also they have a switch where you can set it to keep the fan off under 30% load or something like that so when your computer is idling the PSU fan wouldn't even be on.

XFX's 1K and 1250W PSUs are based on the same platform as the seasonics, and seem to be in the "sales" rotation for many of our online retailers.

As far as single rail 12V lines go..... I've long been an enthusiastic supporter of single rail, but now that I've purchased the XFX 1K psu I'm seriously starting to question if anybody really needs the ability to pull 80+ Amps on a single line...... ;)

agree with RJ, try out the Corsair 1200AX , great power supply I used quite a few of em in client builds for 3 way sli setups.
