The NVS420 is set of for quad DVI, it has dongles that are either adapters or just dongles. It would handle this fine I think, but it's 500 bucks.

Newer QUADRO cards have all mosved to displayport for multimonitor support so you're either looking at adapters or new monitors. And they are expensive.

I kinda favour two dual low/mid end cards with dual DVI... maybe just buy another GTX430? If one is running 2 monitors fine 2 should run 4 fine. I think you can get one of those for around 100 bucks.

wouldn't a regular ati card with dual dvi + hdmi + dp be a better option?

You're absolutely right. I was looking at PNY's website, then searched NCIX for a NVS450. I picked the wrong one.

This card has a breakout dongle for 4x DVI-D connectors. NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420 by PNY 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E1 Quad DVI-D Workstation Video Card - PNY Technologies Inc - VCQ420NVS-X1-DVI-PB

Which one? Link for the OP,please? And it doesn't need an active DP adapter to drive the 4th monitor?

Yes, but those cards drive a maximum of 3 monitors simultaneously. That's the problem with gaming cards vs. workstation cards. There are certain models that are supposed to drive up to 5 monitors, but the cost is more than the workstation card I linked.

So, if the OP wants a 4 monitor single card solution, I think he's looking at a workstation card. As suggested, multiple gaming cards will work as well, but are probably going to be as expensive as a single Firepro / Quadro card, and more of a hassle to set up properly.

It does support up to 4 using only the ports already there... that's why i said he can use it

eyefinity supports 6.. but for regular desktop he can use 4 - 6

he just has to figure out his combination of ports
