Friends NCIX build
 

I have a friend who wants to get a new computer but doesn't want to build it himself. He's using the ncix pc builder and so far we've come up with the following build:

Any suggestions? Any Ideas on how to save some cash?

Make sure he knows that PM is key for getting the best price. Might only be a total of $100 or so, but just a quick glance of the smaller items shows a lot of them to be a good 10 - 15% more than they should be with either PM or even just the sales that are currently on at NCIX.

Needs a bigger PS IMO to SLI 570's along with everything else. Also does he really need a 2600k? Hyperthreading doesn't benefit gaming much. Also I think there are a lot of better SSD deals on NCIX right now.

Well the ssd was one of the better deals on the pc builder. We are using the PC builder page because he doesn't know the first thing about computers. he wanted the computer for gaming and design.

Don't use PC builder on NCIX. Just gather all your parts manually. It's cause most of the prices there are sold in full price, but if you get them one by one, you can get it for the sale prices. The first item you have was for 360. It's on sale for 300... so....

Edit: **320. I swear, I just saw it 300 somewhere. Like sswilson said, look for a cheaper one and PM.

I saved money for every single item in your build by the way. If the link isn't NCIX, then all you gotta do is price match it after checking out in your cart.

Your price plus tax was 2468.29.
My items after tax was 2051.66. And then you have some mail-in rebates too.
I even upgraded your PSU to a Modular 850W. And got you a high quality 120GB SSD.

Common consensus is that CM don't do good PSU's.. Look at Seasonic based ones. (Antec, Corsair, xfx etc)

145 for the corsair TX looks good there.
