Need to check if bottlenecking

Hi Linus,

As week ago, i purchased some of the components from ncix and i jus wana ask that if my pc components bottlenecking or something?

Core i5 2400 3.1Ghz
MSI P67A-C43 B3
WD 500GB Caviar Blue 16mb cache
Kingston 4Gx2 DDR3 1333Mhz Ram
MSI NGTX560-Ti 1GB Twin Frozr II/OC
Antec high Current Gamer 620W
Samsung 24x DVD-RW
Antec 300 PC Case

Late on: OCZ Agility 3 60GB as a boot drive

I need to ask that ok for gaming enough at 1080p as m not Ocing it and some other crazy stuff as i run things on stock settings?

No problem at all.

The bottleneck would depend on the game you're playing. However, that machine seems decently balanced so there is no big obvious bottleneck.

agree. should be quite balanced and it will be game dependent for what limits your system.

Only thing that will bottle neck is the hdd (and any game / program you install on it rather than the ssd)

huh...?! Are you friggin serious ?!...theres no way his HDD is going to cause a bottleneck....please post your justification for this comment!!!!

Just because its a C Blue you thing theres a bottleneck in data transfer from CPU to GPU.....duh...NO)!!!!

WEll normally the thing that "bottlenecks" a computer is the storage drive. It is commonly said that the slowest component is your HDD, normally when listing the benefits of an SSD. I agree that it is really not a bottleneck for games/tasks, but it is the slowest component, like most computers.

First of all, thnx guyz for ur help and secondly, if HDD creates some kinda problm, then no worries, due to less budget i was actually unable to buy ssd, soon i'll buy Vetex 3 or Crucial M4 or maybe Intel one. And what about that HDD by WD, VelociRaptor, its 10,000rpm? But i'll soon purchase ssd for boot and for game installation!

Don't bother with the Velociraptor, it's not worth the money compared to SSD.

If programs are installed on it they will load slow compared to faster drives / SSD.. That is all I meant.



There is no point in getting a Velociraptor at all.
My personal preference is to get a faster storage drive.. but then I transfer allot of data and hate waiting for it
(though load times don't bug me much lol)
