Any reason why this over the new SandyBridge-E processor? 3960x? Or the more likely 3930K?

For 990X
I would go for the Evga Classy 3 Newegg.ca - EVGA 141-GT-E770-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

for 3960x
I would likely go for Rampage IV Extreme Newegg.ca - ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Best combo right now for sandyE would be

i7-3930k

and good mobos
Asus P9X79 PRO/DELUX/WS 330$/400$/400$
a little more mainstream but if u got to money to spend...

ASUS Rampage IV Extreme will cost u a cool 450$

Im personally going with a Asus P9X79 PRO

Sabertooth looks good for the $$. Extra 2 yrs warranty, ROG series VRM for close to $150 less than RIVE.

Also if you are worried about mb price, why not go with the 3930K and save yourself $500? The price difference really isnt justified IMO.
