I take it you're buying a custom pre-built PC? Doesn't look like you're buying parts and building it yourself.

Yeah, hands down the x79 with there being so little price difference. I'd only suggest the x58 to save some $$, but that price you quote isn't cheaper. If it's an option, go for the 240GB SSD and ditch the velociraptor for a normal 7200rpm drive. That way you can have everything that uses the speed on the SSD and save $$ to afford it by getting a slower storage drive.

I am buying a custom pre-built PC. I'm seeing that everyone recomands the x79! But what im scared is the motherboard... on the x58 i had a republic of gamers asus rampage three extreme which is pretty high end.. and on the x79 i have a normal but the really high end p9x79 delux. Would that effect any thing?

You know you could go with the new Extreme model that was reviewed by HwC just this past weekend here ASUS X79 Rampage IV Extreme Socket 2011 Motherboard Review . Take a look at it and see when your shop/builder will be getting them in stock.

I am buying it at ibuypower.com. I do not know how to check the release of the rampage 4. I would really like to have the rampage 4. But another thing i am scared of is the price difference between the p9x79 deluxe and the rampage 4. Is there any way for me to find out?

Is there any reason why you are buying from them. You are aware you could buy parts for a system at NCIX, price match them to whoever has them on sale the cheapest, then for only 50$ have NCIX build and test it for you (the hardware, even Win 7 if you bought that from them too)

if you really need 6 cores get the x79

but if you gaming n stuff get a nice 2500k or 2600k
x79 is a waste of $ in my opinion
a freing bought a rampage IV n 3930K n just sold it after a few days
