Ya. I don't get why people are so hesitant to build their own system. I built my very first one last year, and quite frankly, I'm hooked. These days I'm practically upgrading just to get a chance to tinker. You just follow the instructions in your motherboard manual, and take your time.

I should rephrase that. I can understand why MOST people can't be bothered to build a system. But you're commited to signing up to a computer forum and starting a thread, I think that shows the requisite level of interest.

Is there any reason why you are buying from them. You are aware you could buy parts for a system at NCIX, price match them to whoever has them on sale the cheapest, then for only 50$ have NCIX build and test it for you (the hardware, even Win 7 if you bought that from them too)
X79 n NCIX all the way:
Mobo - NCIX.com - Buy ASUS Rampage IV Extreme E-ATX LGA2011 X79 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 5PCI-E16 SLI CrossFireX Motherboard - ASUS - Rampage IV Extreme - in Canada $463.98
CPU: - NCIX.com - Buy Intel Core i7 3930K 6 Core 12MB 3.2GHZ Hyperthreading Unlocked LGA2011 Processor - Intel - BX80619I73930K - in Canada $629.98
Heat Sink: (Will require 2011 Socket Adapter) - NCIX.com - Buy Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100 Extreme Performance CPU Cooler System LGA775 1366 1156 AM2 AM3 - Corsair - CWCH100 - in Canada $100
RAM: - NCIX.com - Buy G.SKILL F3-14900CL9Q-16GBZL Ripjawsz 16GB 4X4GB DDR3-1866 CL9-10-9-28 Sandy Bridge E 1.5V Memory Kit - G.Skill - F3-14900CL9Q-16GBZL - in Canada $135.33
Boot Drive (SSD) - NCIX.com - Buy OCZ Vertex 3 Max Iops 120GB 2.5IN SATA3 6Gbps Sandforce SF-2281 Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD - OCZ Technology - VTX3MI-25SAT3-120G - in Canada $230
Storage Drive - NCIX.com - Buy Western Digital WD 1TB Caviar Green SATA3 Intellipower 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Disk Drive HDD - Western Digital WD - WD10EARX - in Canada $170
GPU - 2 x NCIX.com - Buy EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Superclocked Fermi 900MHZ 1024MB GDDR5 2XDVI Mini-HDMI PCI-E Video Card - eVGA - 01G-P3-1563-AR - in Canada $540
PSU - NCIX.com - Buy Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 CMPSU-850AX 850W ATX Fully Modular 80PLUS Gold Power Supply - Corsair - CMPSU-850AX - in Canada $200
Case: NCIX.com - Buy Coolermaster cm 690 II Advanced ATX Mid Tower Case Black 4X5.25 1X3.5EXT 6X3.5INT *No PSU* - COOLERMASTER - RC-692-KKN2 - in Canada $100
Optical 1 - NCIX.com - Buy LG GH24LS70 24X SATA Lightscribe Internal DVD Writer Burner DVDRW Optical Drive Black OEM - LG Electronics - GH24LS70 - in Canada $28
Optical 2 - NCIX.com - Buy LG BH12LS38 12X Blu Ray Rewriter SATA Black Lightscribe 3D Playback - Others - BH12LS38 - in Canada $90
OS - NCIX.com - Buy Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64BIT SP1 DVD OEM - Microsoft - GFC-02050 - in Canada $120
NCIX Build = $50

Total: $2857.29

Go with Better PSU (1kW) and SLi GTX 580's:
PSU: NCIX.com - Buy Corsair Professional Series HX1050 1050W ATX 12V 87A 24PIN ATX 80PLUS Silver Modular Power Supply - Corsair - CMPSU-1050HX - in Canada $223.84
GPU: SLi x2 NCIX.com - Buy EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Superclocked Fermi 797MHZ 1536MB GDDR5 2xDVI Mini-HDMI PCI-E Video Card - eVGA - 015-P3-1582-AR - in Canada $1,080

Total: $3,421.13

That will get you started...its just that easy...if you PriceMatch you'll likely be able to chop around $150 or so off of the total coast...get her all into your Shopping Cart, then select th option to "Have the System Built by NCIX" for additional $50!!!

If you decide to beef your GPU's up to SLi 580's (better than a single 590) go with a 1kW PSU.

Enjoy!!!

Same here. I "upgraded" to faildozer last week just to play with it. But yeah, I would not spend 3k on a new top of the line system and let anyone else build it for me.

C'mon guys...think about it from the OP's perspective, if he's going to spend 3K does he really want to fvck with it himself if he has NO experience and isn't comfortable with it??!! NOT everyone here is comfortable with building, I would encourage it, but NOT discourage having Pros take care of it for him if he doesn't feel up to it.

point taken. +$50.00 for ncix guarantee of a working system would be a good idea.
