My System Specs

Default build for first customer

so one of my friends is wanting to get a gaming pc because he saw what mine can do. so i just want to see what yall think of this build i picked for him. his budget is about 1800 dollars US so i had a field day and he plays at 1920x1080.

cpu: Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500K
mobo: Newegg.com - ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
case:Newegg.com - NZXT Crafted Series Tempest 410 Elite Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
ram:Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B
psu: Newegg.com - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX850M 850W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular High Performance Power Supply
video cards: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N580UD-15I GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
ssd: Newegg.com - Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
hdd: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive -Bare Drive
extra fans: Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER R4-L2R-20AC-GP 120mm Blue LED Case Fan
cpu cooler: Newegg.com - CORSAIR H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

so i changed the psu, video card, and ram and i watched linuses video over this case and the top part slides off and you can fit the rad up there hidden under the mesh the same thing as the 500r by corsair so it should fit
and im so jealous of this its so not fair but he has the money and i dont
and holy crap a 750gb drive is 150!!!! i paid 100 for my 1tb 2 years ago.

750W is most likely enough, but to keep things on the safe side, I'd go with an 850W PSU, specially since the TX850 is only 10$ more than what you picked, the AX850 are also very well regarded, but do cost fair bit more.
Besides that, the SSD could be a bit bigger (120gb) to have a few more games and to leave more free space. The case is totally up to him... Not exactly what I'd pick, but that's so personal.

For the GPU, I would go for XFX for double lifetime warranty or MSI and Asus (or Gigabyte) for better cooling solution.

Never get a customer a crossfire build, crossfire has too many issues and I guarantee you that you will see the computer back for a fix (which no one ever wants to see). Customers don't want to troubleshoot driver issues, some PC builders don't mind but you need to think of the customer.

Pick him up a GTX 580, it will handle anything he throws at it (at 1920x1080), it will leave him with an upgrade path (SLI), and he won't have driver issues.

Also that case doesn't have a good place to mount the H100 unless you ghetto mod it which no one wants to do for a customer so either ditch the case or get the H80 instead.

Lastly think about getting him 16GB of RAM, it wont hurt and it is dirt cheap right now.

P.S HDD's are crazy expensive right now, I paid $70 for my 1TB WD Caviar Black might want to think about waiting til it comes down in price although that might not be anytime soon so maybe better not to wait.

Use the SSD for caching instead of using for OS

these are all things i considered and the reason the ssd is only a 64gb is for caching. and right now im trying to convince him of a different case maybe a 4 or 500r by corsair, ill see what i can do about the graphics since i know amd have their ups and downs with drivers in crossfire. ill take a look at maybe a 580 or 560ti's in sli i guess ill go with 16gbs of ram since that stuff is dirt cheap and that kit was only 40 bucks
