Default 965 x4 vs 1090t amd cpu's

hey guys,
what amd cpu would be the best for gamming out of these two amd 965 x4 or the 1090t x6? i will be using a gtx 560 ti and drr2 800 4 gigs with it. what would be better for gamming?

If u run more then 1 thing while gaming or plan to play games that take advantage of multi core chips, then a 1090t is your best bet.

If your looking at playing battlefield 3 for example, my system in my sig @ 1920x1080 in high detail mode I was gettin 57 fps on average & 81 max.

i went from an x4 to an x6 and it was a big boost in every department so +1 for a 1090t

and terry what settings are you running? im at ultra at 1680x1050 and get between 35 and 50 average and 90 max with 24 lowest.

that is also with 2-4 IE browsers with tabs open, 2 im's & utorrent goin.

I'm not convinced you will see a big gain over the 965. I don't believe many games are able to use more then 4 cores these days, does anyone know otherwise?

Not sure if you will be playing bf3, but if so, check out this article.

Agreed. LINK. For gaming 4 cores is all you need. If you do anything that is CPU intensive and threaded, or if you plan to keep it for a long time, then go for the 1090. Otherwise go for the 965 (personally I would save the $15 and get a 955 and just OC it).

yes i plan to play bf3 and most modern games that are on the market and i want to be able to keep the cpu for a farly long time. and wat would be my best choice with the cpu a 6950 1gb or a gtx 560 to twin frozr ii oc ?
