My System Specs

Default Alienware + Tt Level 10 GT LCS

Well here it is. Slik's Alienware Area 51 hardware has been transplanted into a Thermaltake Level 10 GT LCS case.

There were two major issues I had with this build. The Dell 1200 watt PSU is HUGE! I had to do a little case mod so the PSU would fit. The other problem was the rear panel. It's tight. We had a hard time just taking it off, let alone trying to get it back on with all the cables tucked in behind the mobo tray!

At any rate, here are the pics of the final build. I was going to take more of the "before and during process" but I didn't really feel like screw around too much. There was enough work to do without stopping to take a pic every 2 minutes.

Oh..... any crappy looking wiring will be adjusted at a later date. Slik plans on ordering a new PSU. It'll likely be a Thermaltake unit.

Why on earth would you keep that PSU o.o Probably only actually produces 850W~ unless dell decided they're going to use a quality OEM lol.

Seeing a beautiful case like that with dual 580's and then having that hideous 1200W Dell PSU and that Dell motherboard makes me want to cry.

Well it's only being used for now. I think he's ordering a new one tomorrow.

Baby steps bud. As mentioned above, PSU will be on it's way out.

The Dell mobo is pretty solid and it has an X58 chipset. It doesn't look THAT bad does it? It's all under warranty anyhow so why not use it?

He should be ordering a Seasonic, Corsair or Silverstone unit instead.

An AX1200 would look absolutely sweet here.

I think I'm going to order a 1500 watt from Thermaltake. I don't think they are open on Sunday for a purchase, but I do need to talk to a tech. I'm getting a loud buzz or hum that seems to be coming from Liquid cooling pump. It is so loud,I can't hear anything else from the case. All fans are super quiet. If it wasn't for the pump noise, you would barely know the PC is turned on. So far,I'm very impressed. Thanks Killswitch. You have made me a convert. I gotta have a three monitor set up. It never ends.
