The thing is in certain games like CoD The game runs more smooth on fps for example in cod2 or cod4 you wanted a bare minimum of 125 FPS solid, 250 was preferred it made things like strafe jumping easier and with 333 fps solid you got stuff like silent running etc.

I really don't see how this would make a difference. 60 fps is 1 frame every 0.0167 seconds, It wouldn't make any difference in visual effect so how would it make doing certain things easier. It would look the exact same at the exact same time to your body.

Also not to mention with a 60hz monitor the screen only displays 60 fps, so if you are running 100000000 fps it will be the exact same as running 60 fps.

It probably reduced the min fps to > 60

It's the engine mainly, like i said you can jump further with higher fps etc.
