Default A new gaming rig, needs some suggestions

PLEASE when POST threads asking for input on system builds tell us...

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Gaming and hooking up with my hdtv

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
around 1000 thats about 1300$

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Estonia and UK

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. Not really

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
not any parts
6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
have looked at alot of builds
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
end opf the month
9. What resolution do you use? 1920 x 1080 is the monitor i have picked out

So, i have looked around a bit more and have some of the items chosen.
CPU: INTEL CORE I5 2500K 190 261$
http://www.arvutikeskus.ee/est/TOO [...] BOX-103762
PSU: CHIEFTEC PSU 750W 85 117$
http://arvutikeskus.ee/est/TOOTEKA [...] 750C-59547
is this good enough to later run sli or cross? or shoudl i look for more W
HDD:SEAGATE ST31000524AS 1TB 32MB 7200rpm SATA3 50 69$
http://arvutikeskus.ee/est/TOOTEKA [...] TA3-108603
MEMORY: recomend some, around 50 69$
PCU cooler: Cooler Master HYPER 212 PLUS 26 36$
MOBO: ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 150 206$
http://arvutikeskus.ee/est/Otsing/ [...] REME4+GEN3
the problem i have iwth mobo's is that some of the gpus are 3 slot(asus ones) and might have alot of trubles if i'd like to run them in sli/cfire might anyone have any experience with that?
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 570 DirectCU II 258 295 406$
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] ubcat=1010
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 570 OC WINDFORCE 3X 266 304 419$
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] ubcat=1010
OR maybe insted a HD 6950 or 6970
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 TOXIC 2048MB GDDR5 248 283 390$ (they used to be upgrade to 6970 but do not know if anymore?)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] =GX-274-SP
Or maybe some other brand?
Or overall witch ones should i be looking at to first use 1 and later sli or cross
CASE: Zalman Z9 Plus PC tower 70 96$
http://www.pixmania.com/ee/ee/1034 [...] tower.html
Cooler Master Storm Scout 75 103 (leaning towards this)
http://www.pixmania.com/ee/ee/2972 [...] case.html#
Monitor: ViewSonic 24" LCD VX2453 160 220$
http://www.hinnavaatlus.ee/product [...] id/178483/
or shoudl i be spending more? on a monitor
Total around 1060 thats 1459$
plus a little for a keyboard(have a mouse for the start) and some other stuff that might need
so If You guys could look it over, see if im not making any mistakes anywhere? is the MOBO good enough to upgrade in the future like the new intel psu or a next gen gpu

Are all PSU brands available in Estonia? Seasonic, Corsair, XFX,, Silverstone, Antec, Enermax? You can also check who manufactures the PSU. This will add up to your cost.

WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA6 64MB should smooth out your apps better, but it's more expensive.

For RAM: 1600hz CL9 Kingston, G.Skill, Corsair, Mushkin

For motherboard, this was the best option, or still is until Asus releases a Gen.3 Z68 SLI board (Pro or V-Pro). That should be any day. It is still fine for triple-slot video cards in SLI if you change your case from Scout to a better air-cooling case. For that same price I recommend the Rosewill Blackhawk.

As for your GPU, The Sapphire Toxic HD6950 does flash to HD6970 specs and can be overclocked further than a stock HD6970, but look at its price and how close it is to the Asus DCUII GTX570! Not worth the saving. I would get the Asus card.

Hope that helps :)

Have had some issues with a few AsRock mobos lately, get an Asus Sabertooth or the one suggested by Luay79 above.
About the GPU- go for the Gigabyte 570 rather the Asus. I'd also suggest to spend a bit more on a higher quality PSU - Seasonic M12/S12, Corsair GS/TX/HX, Antec HCG/HCP series, etc...
Also try looking for a Samsung BX2450 at this budget.
Good luck! And post some pics of the finished build :)

Storm Scout is a no go i repeat a no go!!! i have a scout and its very meh, very small and bad to work in, plus with a tower cooler in there like the 212 you cant use the top fan or the highest side panel fan, so i had to replace the stock fans ( to compensate for the lack of the others) with 2200rpm sickle flows that can get really loud. and the scout cant handle video over 10 3/4 inches so no 69xx series if you do get it and i think the asus and gigabyte 570 is 11 inches aswell. i would go for the enforcer of haf 912 if you want a coolermaster case, of a corsair 400r which is amazing for 100bucks and it supports 12 1/2 inch video cards

So far what i have...

CPU:INTEL CORE I5 2500K 190 261$

COOLER:Cooler Master HYPER 212 PLUS 26 36$ This i will get a bit later just to get the budget a bit lower.. il get it when i start OCing. Is it ok to first instal with original cooler then later add it?

I'm thinking of this case THERMALTAKE CHASER MK-I it cost like 150 thats about 205$ Is it worth it? does it have good air flow? room for Asus gtx 3 slot card and even room for 2 in sli?(3 slot cars are the asus gtx570's)

torn between ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 150 205$ and Z68 EXTREME4 GEN3 180 249$ Is the Z worth the extra 44$
Do i understand right that the gen 3 means that those boards support the new ivy bridge pcu's and pci 3.0

ASUS GTX570 DCII 312 430$ Is this card worth getting? so far all the reviews say its good. hows the warranty on that? what i mean is does OCing break it? and also using the software Asus it self provides with it also breaks it?

Asus 24" LCD ML248H 196 270$ I like the look of it but the main thing is preformance, does it have enough of it?

SAMSUNG F3 1TB or SEAGATE 1TB 32MB 3boath cost 50 70$
WD CAVIAR BLACK 1TB70 96$ is it word the extra 26$ if i plan to add a ssd in the future

Kingston DDR3 HyperX PC-12800 1600MHz 4GB CL9 (9-9-9-27) 24 33$ this x 2 to get 8 gb in total

The thing im most confused about. I dont know how much power "W" would this machine need while also thinking of the future when im going to ad a ssd and maybe another asus gtx 570. Might it be 850W?
-CHIEFTEC PSU 850W 14CM ATX12 80+ CAB.MAN 97 134$
-Corsair Enthusiast Series TX850 V2 - 850 W 120 166$
-Cool Master PSU 850W 13.5CM ATX12V2.3 80+ 115 159$
or a 1000W
Chieftec PSU 1000W 14CM ATX 80+ 110 152$

These prices are the lowest i found that i can buy.

So could u guys look it over again? give some feedback on the Case? Mobo? monitor? and how much "W" do i need out of my PSU if i SLI and add a ssd?

Tnx a million for replays!

Hey I have the ASRock P67 Extreme4 Gen3 board. I think you will be happy with it. If I am correct I think the only difference between P67 and Z68 is the SSD caching and use of onboard graphics on the Z68. If you are going to be using your SSD in the future as a boot drive and you definitely wont be using the onboard graphics you can save yourself a few bucks going with the P67.

As far as the 3 card slot's in SLI, it should work. There is 3 slots between each card now that I am looking in my case, but your cards are going to be sandwiched together and literally millimeters apart from eachother.

One thing to keep in mind with this board is the size of the heatsinks on the mobo. They are quite large and gave me a problem with the original CPU cooler I bought(Zalman CNPS11x). Now it may be because the CPU cooler was triangular in shape, not rectangular but also could be due to the heatsinks. I ended up getting a Corsair H60 because the block on the CPU was a guaranteed fit.

Hope this helps!
