Default Help with laptop!

I've decided I'm going to buy a laptop.
At the moment I've been looking at the G74-A1 and A2.

The A1 is currently on sale for 1699 and the A2 is 1999.
The only differences between the A1 and A2 are that the A2 has a 160 SSD, and 16Gb of ram instead of 12.

Do you guys think I should buy the ram/SSD and install it myself? Or just pay the extra money for the A2.

Well if you really do need the extra 4GB RAM and a 160gb SSD you might aswell pay the difference instead of installing it yourself.
Since a 160gb SSD will cost about ~$250. And the RAM would be like 30-50$ I guess.
So I guess it is worth the money to just get the A2 if you actually do indeed need the SSD and extra 4GB of RAM.

A suggestion ... don't buy off the shelf. Look into customizing your model. I suggest XOTICPC. Service is amazing. There are a number of other online retailers as well. I ordered my Sager and it arrived 8 days later ... and I had it shipped to Taiwan. Very fast.

XOTICPC

Also; ReflexNotebook ... Canadian Company ... but most other retailers offer Canadian RMA (covers shipping) for a fee at purchase.

since you have 2 drive bays, i suggest getting one ssd by yourself. There are alot of threads on ssd selection here on HWC. As for ram... 12gb should be more than enough?
