Newest i5 build SSD ADVICE?
I would appreciate it if I could get some feedback on this build I am putting together,

I am going to be running two of these cards in crossfire ATI 6850:
NCIX.com - Buy XFX 750W PRO750W Core Edition Single Rail ATX 12V 62A 24PIN ATX Power Supply 80PLUS Bronze PSU - XFX - P1750SNLB9 - in Canada

With this 750watt psu
NCIX.com - Buy XFX 750W PRO750W Core Edition Single Rail ATX 12V 62A 24PIN ATX Power Supply 80PLUS Bronze PSU - XFX - P1750SNLB9 - in Canada

Core i5 2500k
NCIX.com - Buy Intel Core i5 2500K Quad Core Unlocked Processor LGA1155 3.3GHZ Sandy Bridge 6MB - Intel - BX80623I52500K - in Canada

MSI P56A-GD55 motherboard
NCIX.com - Buy MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) P67 ATX LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E 2PCI SLI CrossFireX SATA3 USB3 Motherboard - MSI/MicroStar - P67A-GD55 (B3) - in Canada

Anyone have advice on SSD? I would not be opposed to doing two smaller SSD's in raid
Appreciate the help,

Started looking at this ram for a possibility, NCIX.com - Buy Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Vengeance Blue 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Dual Channel Memory Kit - Corsair - CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B - in Canada

Not really looking to overclock it, any thoughts?

I'm using a Cooler Master V6GT for my heat sink. Very solid, very quiet, but i think almost twice the cost of the 212+?

that being said my 2500k (not overclocked yet) idles at 30ish degrees if coretemp can be trusted (which I assume it can)

If on the off chance you choose to pick the V6GT, you may need ram with a lower profile haha.

if you want complete silence on the heatsink front get an hr-02. fanless. can cool i7's :)

Thanks for the posts guys im looking into those coolers now, Noise isn't really an issue for me and neither is size as I have it in its own storage room, i wont be running a case and I just run the wires to my desk. I wasn't even thinking of the clearance issues with the ram heatsinks so thats a good point

I just got a notice that the 6850's are on backorder so i was thinking of going with the XFX 6870's instead
NCIX.com - Buy XFX Radeon HD 6870 900MHZ 1GB 4.2GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card - XFX - HD687AZHFC - in Canada

Edit, I just noticed this cooler, while pricey it gets really good reviews and i would rather not upgrade my cooler down the road... thoughts?
NCIX.com - Buy Noctua NH-D14 LGA1155/1156/1366/AM3 I7/I5/PHENOM Heatpipe Cooler W/ NF-P14 140MM & NF-P12 120MM Fan - Noctua - NH-D14 - in Canada

That cooler would be an over kill. Just remember these new chips run extremely cool even over clocked, and 2500k is not hyperthreaded so it would run even cooler, even over clocked. I would really get the coolermaster hyper 212 and get a 2nd cooler master blade master fan for push pull config for about 10 bucks, so about 40 bucks you will get a sick cooler that will keep your temps super down.

The sandy bridge chips run really really cool, you will be amazed. With the extra money I would invest it somewhere else, perhpas a ssd?

How about a 570 instead?:bleh:

I would say 6970 buy I may be biased.

When I bought my V6GT i got it for around 45 bucks, so if you want to spend the extra 5 bucks, you can get a engine like looking heat sink haha.

I really appreciate the help guys, I don't have a lot of time to research these things so it's awesome to be able to get advice on it.

I see what you mean about the other cooler, for half the cost I can get the 212 with a secondary fan, so i am thinking of going that option.

I'm not seeing any good deals on SSD's at the moment and dont really have the time to pour over websites for them, what are peoples thoughts on velociraptor drives?
I/E NCIX.com - Buy Western Digital Velociraptor WD3000HLHX 300GB SATA3 6GB/S 10000RPM 32MB 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive - Others - WD3000HLHX - in Canada

or is this SSD really going to give much of an advantage?
