Gaming you aren't going to see an improvement with the i7 2600k, however for folding it will make a difference in your PPD.

So if you want more gaming performance the i7 2600k won't offer much more (actually for sole gaming performance an i3 2120 almost matches it but then you lose multi-tasking ability). That build he gave you is good Sammy F3's are pretty much equal to WD Black.

Personally I would rather drop the i7 pick up the i5 and grab a 60 gb SSD for OS and Caching.
